And now, Ladies and Gentlemen...

...the lyrics to O Canada

O Canada!
Our home and native land!
True patriot love in all thy sons command.

With glowing hearts we see thee rise,
The True North strong and free!

From far and wide,
O Canada, we stand on guard for thee.

God keep our land glorious and free!
O Canada, we stand on guard for thee.

O Canada, we stand on guard for thee.

That's because Tracy and I felt compelled to look this up last night. Then we listened to Sarah McLachlan sing it (at a hockey game) (the Canucks were playing) (it was around 1996). She changed the 8th line to "Love keep our land glorious and free!"

Child Rearing

Nope. Make that child raising. No, just make it child lifting. That's our fitness plan, and we think it works!

Summer is Here!

Lucy has been asking when she can go on a bike ride, and the answer for about 5 months running has been "When it's the summer time." Today it felt close enough, and off went Tracy with Lucy in tow.

The Easter Egg Hunt

It was another fine year for an Easter Egg hunt. Our intrepid band of neighborhood kids take a break after ridding the Bobenrieth's front yard of those pesky Easter Eggs. The backyard awaits.

Fake ID?

Nope. Multnomah County Library card. Well used. Doubles as a credit card to swipe when play acting grocery store check out.

Give me land...

lots of land, under starry skies above
Don’t fence me in.
And hook me up with some screen real estate while you're at it. I really like this set up.

When Is Easter, Anyway?

Easter is the period between the first appearance of Paas Easter Egg coloring kits on grocery store shelves, and when that last egg salad sandwhich is consumed. Lucy certainly noticed the start of the season, and wasn't open to suggestions to delay the start of activities, so this weekend we colored Easter Eggs. Then Lucy started requesting eggs with salt and "water". That means I'm supposed to wash the egg shell bits off in the sink before adding a dash of salt. Then she discovered that she could skip eating the boiled yolks.
